What we do
We provide commercial, industrial and institutional weed control and pesticide application. Our weed control applications include preventative treatments using pre-emergent, post-emergent for existing weeds, and aquatic weed control. Our pesticide applications include vertebrate control of gophers and ground squirrels. We sell lawn products for both commercial and residential use including weed killers, insecticides, fertilizers, walk behind mowers, riding mowers, tillers, chainsaws, trimmers, edgers and more. We offer the largest inventory of equipment parts in Kern County and our complete service department provides service to any brand we sell.

History
Abate-A-Weed was founded in October of 1965 by Jona Feil and Marvin Bartel for the express purpose of providing weed and insect control for industrial, commercial and residential property.
The company began with one spray rig and one working partner. Abate-A-Weed expanded into sales of chemicals in 1967 and sales of lawn and garden equipment in 1975.
Jona Feil purchased Marvin Bartel’s share of the business after his death in 1986.
